DAKHLA : UNIQUE PLACE BETWEEN DESERT AND SEA

Dakhla is a city located in the southern tip of Morocco, where the climate and its geography make the Dakhla Peninsula a hub for ecological sports.
The city of Dakhla benefits from significant touristic and economic opportunities, not to mention, the rich and varied maritime resources, the Oued Eddahab Bay, which covers over 400 km², 667 km of coast, with ideal pedoclimatic conditions for early vegetables and fruits production, long routes for camel breeding, as well as optimal and unique sunlight and wind speed, averaging a 22 °C temperature all year long.
Dakhal is located at the tip of the peninsula between sea and desert.
DUST 2016
A race involving food self-sufficiency means that each runner shall be autonomous between each water distribution point (check points) not only in terms of food, but also equipment and personal security.
This principle implies that during the race, competitors shall have on their person all compulsory items needed to respond to any unforeseeable situations such as bad weather, physical impairment, injury, during their wait for assistance, etc ….
A 12, 18 or 31 miles stage over a 3 day period with bivouac every night and dinner following the race.
Racers will have to remain self-sufficient during each stage of the race; UEO will only provide water distribution on the race routes. Breakfast, dinner and bivouac will be ensured by the organization.
